Stupid backpack zippers

Hey guys. After months of researching and getting help from all the great people on this forum I finally made up my mind and got a jansport agave 32. I love everything about it EXCEPT for the ONE main compartment zipper that isn’t reversed. I don’t understand why they left it alone. Whenever you zip or unzip it gets stuck on the thin flap that covers the zipper. I was just wondering if any of you guys have a fix or mod that stops this from happening. I’ve been thinking about cutting it off but I have a bad feeling I would mess it up. Is this just something backpack makers do and I’m going to have to live with or is there a fix? Thanks for the info in advance guys.
