    Can any of you offer suggestions for a show or low boot with more support and padding than a Merrell Pulsate (the newer equivalent of the Merrell Chameleon I wear now)? Deep (orange) Superfeet orthotics must be able to fit into the shoes. I have looked far and wide, and can’t find anything else that is comfortable now for my very sensitive feet and knee problems.

    Here’s the story:

    – severe fibromyalgia and arthritis and faciitis pain issues (deep Superfeet orthotics are necessary);
    – long commute on subway and bus where I often have to stand, plus walking on hard surfaces;
    – job involving a lot of walking and standing often during the day;
    – arch shank is necessary; and
    – water resistance is helpful but I can overlook it by using silicone spray and some luck.

    I was wearing Drew Walkers, which are not cheap and made for orthotics and foot pain issues, but the soles do not provide enough padding to be comfortable now. The Drew shoes are better suited to my legal work environment than the Merrell hikers I’m wearing now, but I’ve been able to get away with the Merrells so far by appealing to my boss for the leeway on the dress code.

    It would be best if I could leave all of the insoles the shoes/boots come with inside the footwear and still fit the Superfeet insole in there, but I normally have to remove at least one layer of the standard orthotic that comes with the footwear to fit the Superfeet insole in there.

    Any suggestions you can provide, even for further investigation by me, will be very appreciated. Thanks for the help!
