Supposedly 80 lumens from G2LED, but not perceptibly brighter than 45 lumen E1L?

I just got a Surefire G2 Nitrolon LED, primarily because I wanted something brighter than my E1L Outdoorsman…
and although the E1L is said to put out 45 lumens, and the G2 LED is said to put out 80 lumens, the two spots side-by-side on my house wall in the dark outside seem to be almost the same. I mean, for what is supposed to be almost 200% of the output, I was expecting this thing to be noticeably brighter, and I must say I am a bit disappointed. Now I figure that all I’ll probably get out of the G2 LED is some longer runtime than the E1L…

Has anyone else compared these two and found that the 2 cell “80 lumen” G2 LED is not all that bright? I’d like to gather others’ opinions and experience on this light. Thanks.
