Surefire EWP-01 Owners!!! Ceramic Glass Breaker Anyone???

So now that my steel ball is out of the glass breaker, does anyone want a ceramic ball?

The balls are sold in packs of 10, and I don’t have 9 EWP-01’s
So I thought I’d ask the group…

So… Here’s the Secret:

I do NOT recommend drilling the cap as mentioned in another thread.

The Ball Bearing is press-fit, and I use a combination of rapid heating and cooling to remove the ball. The process leaves the ball and cap intact. In fact… you can remove the ball and immediately return the glass breaker to its original condition with no ill effects.

Equipment Needed:
-Mini butane torch
-Small container of ice and water (mostly ice)
-Vice Grip or Rubber Handled Pliers

Process:
1. Remove glass breaker end, and hold it using pliers or vice grip.
2. Using the torch, heat the glass breaker 30-60 seconds.
3. Place hot glass breaker in ice cold water
4. Repeat until the steel ball falls out.

Caution: In some cases… the ball may “shoot” out, use caution

NOTE:
Please don’t use these instructions to start your own pen modifying conglomerate … otherwise I will have to ask for no less than 50% of your profits for my R&D work.
