Ok, I’m starting to notice some size issues. I own some 5.11 Taclite Pros, that seem tighter than they used to be, as well as some of the Proper copy cats. There are elements to each that I like.
Unfortunately, I can’t figure out what size I am now. I wear a 32″ waist in jeans and slacks, and my jeans are falling off without a belt although I always wear a belt so they’ve never really fallen down. I find 32 in either pair of pants are tighter in the waist than I would like them to be, but the 34 is markedly looser and far too baggy everywhere else.
Some have told me that the 5.11s run small, and the Propers are true to size. Others have told me that the 5.11s run short, yet I haven’t noticed this and find my 34 inseam adequate in both brands of pants.
The reason I’m asking is I’m taking a new job soon and have the option of business casual or scrubs. Instead of wearing out my slacks, even my Dockers-type pants, I’m going to wear tactical pants, yes, which will also better incorporate my core EDC gear. I iron mine so they always look fairly nice, and the sewn in pleats dress them up a bit although none of my “dress pants” are pleated.
