I’m looking to build a tool kit to keep in my vehicle that handles household repairs.
As the title implies, I think a set of tools will handle 95% of the jobs while still remaining compact.
The general idea is to have it so that I can make quick repairs whether at the office, visiting friends, or whenever I need household fix it stuff and not on a planned project. (For handling actual planned projects I’ll bring the appropriate tools).
The items need to be compact (ie fit in a small riggers bag), and able to handle a whole host of different everyday “problems” around the home.
This kit is for those minor things which crop up from time to time.
So far my head has thought of the following:
hammer
channel locks/ water pumps
vise grip
leather man tool
multi bit screwdriver
adjustable wrench/crescent wrench
tape measure
torpedo level
linesman pliers
pencil/pen/marker
utility knife
mini hacksaw
precision multi bit screwdriver (kids toys, eyeglasses, etc)
magnetic pick up tool
magnifying lens
allen keys (hex/torx)
scissors
zip ties
safety glasses
super glue
duct tape
wire
small assortment of fasteners (pill container)
Any recommendations. ideas, thoughts, opinions are welcome.
Tool brand recommendations, opinions, are also welcome but please base them on actual usage.
Because this kit will be kept in the vehicle, frugal choices in tools would be best in case of theft
Thanks in advance for your input
