If you don’t own a buck 110, you’ve probably seen someone with it. I used one for two years as an EDC knife for hard use. Along the way the tip snapped off, and I repaired it on a grinding wheel to look just like new, you can hardly tell I did anything to it. I re- profiled the edge to a scandi grind and got it razor sharp and kept it so for a long time. After two years of very hard use it now has some blade play in it. I contacted buck about this and they said for something like $10 they will replace the blade and tune everything up to be as good as new. I specifically inquired about my modification to fix it, and the person I talked to said it would not be a problem because the knife was not damaged because of the modification, just use. That being said, I am going to be sending back the knife to be repaired this week.
I have fixed a friend’s knife in the exact same manor, and also reprofiled the edge.
I have loved this knife, even though it is heavy. I carry it in the belt sheath and might put it in a skinth eventually. Does anyone else appreciate this classic?
