This was not caused by my server or the software (just heading off offers to help with the server  )

The problem was network issue at the hosting company.

I spent several hours hitting redial on the phone and refresh on the hosting companies website. I will be a missing person on this side of things most likely to try and catch up on things. It was kind of silly for me to spend all that time hitting refresh.
