KeymasterFirst let me start off by stating that this bag is not by any stretch of the imagination an EDC bag to carry all of your gadgets, flashlights, multi-tools, knives, handguns and every molle accessory you own. This is somewhat of a minimalist bag, designed for quick carry of a laptop and basic office type accessories.
The bag itself is very nicely made with many customizable material and color options. The reason I purchased this bag was because I could make it my own by choosing a mix of colors, patterns and material types. It may not appeal to the mass, but it represents me and that’s what I wanted.
Most of you will be wondering about what it can carry, so below I have listed out all of the pockets with approximate measurements:
- Outer flap pouch – 14.5”w 7.5” tall, it also has two small pouches inside, one is 3”w 4.5” tall and the other is 5”w 4.5” tall. Important to note the small inner pouches are open top and are sewn flat, so think only thin storage here – pens, business cards, small torch, etc.
- Main compartment (accessible from top or back of bag, back access is mainly for easy laptop access) – 15-16”w 15” tall with top roll flap open (most room) and 10-11” tall with top flap rolled shut (as in first picture)
- The laptop sleeve is padded and 15”w 10”tall and has a velco flap at the opening to hold the laptop in place
- Outside of the laptop sleeve is another sleeve, kept inside the top velcro loop to keep contents inside, and sized perfect for 8.5×11 papers (likely a thin spiral bound notebook is all you could fit)
- Opposite the laptop sleeve is a zippered pouch 10”w 6”tall
- Outside of the zippered pouch are two open top sewn pouches, 5”w 5”tall each
- The rest of the main compartment is open with plenty of room for notebooks, chargers, etc. but doesn’t really scream organization to me and will likely hold my portfolio and a few folders. The third pic showing the main compartment, I moved the sides in to show the pockets, the main area is larger than the pic shows.
Pros:
- Quality craftsmanship and very nice materials used
- Endless color/material customizing options allow you to make it exactly how you want it
- Nice minimalist bag for every day office use
- Nice padded shoulder strap (paid extra for it) that’s adjustable from tucked under the armpit to just below the waist (I’m 6’2”)
- Easy access to your laptop without opening the top of the bag
Cons:
- Not enough compartments and pouches for carrying other than the basics
- Pouches are sewn flat, which severely limits what you can put in them
- A bit pricey, but you pay for the customization and quality work
- Quite a bit of work to get into the main compartment from the top (two buckles, unroll/unfold flap and then pull top of flap from two velcro squares)
- Shoulder strap clips are plastic, time will tell if this is an issue. The bag isn’t that big and won’t hold a ton so hopefully keeping the weight down will extend the life on the clips
I haven’t had a chance to actually use the bag just yet, but wanted to get my initial thoughts out there. I have no doubt this is a quality bag and will serve its purpose for a long time to come. The craftsmanship is top notch and the materials are also very nice. This will definitely not replace my EDC bag that I use for when I travel for work, but it will definitely be a alternative on most days.
Pictures are in the next post down since I can’t post pics from work. Tapatalk from phone and typing from computer. If a mod could move the pics to the bottom of this post, I would greatly appreciate it!
