Tip: using a shoulder strap with the Maxpedition Proteus versipack

The Maxpedition Proteus is a fine versipack designed to be carried by hand or around the waist. We prefer to carry it using a shoulder strap instead.

You can add a carabiner through the PALS webbing on each end and attach a strap to the carabiners. It is difficult to keep the Proteus upright using this method.

A better method is to install a split ring on each leg of the H-strap, then connect the shoulder strap to those split rings (show in the image below). The Proteus will remain upright even when the H-strap is unbuckled.
