I received my True Utility Order today including a Twiststick, Keytool, and Telepen. My original intention was to buy just the Twiststick. I read about it here and was intrigued by the clever design and minimalist footprint. I ordered the other 2 items out of curiosity. They weren’t very expensive so I figured–why not? I’m already spending on the shipping from the UK. Well, as expected, they will be relegated to the junk drawer. My overall impressions of all 3 items is they are cheap imitations of other cool designs targeted for an indiscriminate consumer. Much to be expected by the ~$8 price tag. I will say this though for the Twiststick: It’s design is unique and–albeit the execution and materials are not high grade–it’s a slick little tool for anyone that has found themselves inopportunely without a corkscrew.
I know most of the members here appreciate craftsmanship, quality materials, utility, versatility, durability, creativity, and dependability in our tool selections. We understand and appreciate the difference between a Spyderco or a Benchmade and a $10 folder made in China. Or, even better, an Emerson, or a Strider, or a Hinderer….for these reason I cannot recommend the tools I’ve purchased from True Utility.
