I bought a cheapo USB rechargeable lighter awhile back, and I got to say that I think it could be a very nice addition to anybody’s gear. It looks like a plastic zippo, except when you flip open the lid, there is a small metal coil that heats up similar to a car lighter. I was able to get a few months use out of it on one charge, although I didn’t use it every day, I’d say it will light up at least 20 times on a full charge.
When I was messing around with it, I was easily able to light a cigarette and a cigar, and also able to ignite paper, cotton balls, a quicktinder tab, and dry leaves. I’m seriously considering getting a few more of these for camping, BOB, vehicle, etc. I love that you can have a fire source in most types of weather (especially wet/windy conditions) with it, and from an opsec standpoint, it is completely silent too.
