I never let it go fully flat so it was inoperable, it was on the last segment so still working. It’s since gone back up just sat here on my desk, it does take a looooong time to charge, especially in the UK with our 5 minutes of bright sunlight per 3 days :p
I will keep my eye on it, monitor and reassess.
I agree they are hassle, I have a fair few G-shocks and keeping them all topped up can be a pain, I have a rotation system for them that works but the eco-drive got left out on the side in the shade for too long.
Im right there with you bro. Lol!!!

I like my SKX009 but it won’t hold it’s “charge” more than 24 hours or so. If I don’t almost wear it daily I have to restart it. Still, a great watch.
When fully wound the SKX series of Seiko divers has over a 40 hr power reserve. Its just getting it fully wound that’s the problem. Lol!! If you dont wear it at least 12 hrs a day for a few days it will stop after about 24 hrs. My 3 SKX series and Monsters with the same movement all stay wound really well cause I’m pretty much the type of person that puts a watch on and wears it 24 hrs a day.

I’ve got the same, very versatile watch!
Yeah mine is the tough solar, too, just different design than that one. and parcord band, homemade 🙂 The flash made the brown look gold, so I put in a little star shaped thing to show the actual colors lower right.[IMG]

On the Eco Drive watches if you let them fully die the storage battery loses all its ability to stay charged like it did before. It won’t be the same till its changed to a new one. Believe me I have tons of experience with Solar watches. Same goes for solar Gshocks. If you somehow let them completely die and recharge them they will never hold a charge like they did when they were new until you change the storage battery. That’s why I’ve gotten away from solar watches. To big of a pain to keep them all charged all the time. I have a huge collection of watches. I prefer a regular battery quartz or a mechanical automatic movement.

That’s interesting. I had not heard that before.

Took this 5.11 Field Ops watch with the Sureshot Ballistic Calculator function to the range. I zeroed out the dope on my M40A3 sniper rifle and went directly to the 400 yrd range. Figured everything out on the Sureshot Calculator function and squeezed off the very first round and hit a 12 inch target to the upper left. Made the adjustment to 1 Mil to the right and on the second round hit very close to the center. Love it!!! It works very very well. Your now looking at my number 1 range watch. I would highly recommend it to anyone who shoots at competitive long distance shooting. It can figure the dope out to 1000 yrds. No more doing the math in my head or on paper. It’s very easy to enter the required info. I had read alot of bad reviews of the watch itself due to the screw lug design breaking at the case rendering it unwearable. So I placed I call directly to 5.11 customer service yesterday evening to find out if it has been addressed yet and they told me the ones from this time 2013 forward till now they have redesigned the Lugs to be highly durable. She told me they haven’t received one back for service for that problem in just over a year. So im very happy as I just purchased mine 4 days ago. I received it overnight shipping and took it to the range yesterday. Overall I would say its definitely worth checking into for the recreational or professional shooter. Thanks for reading.
