Casio G-shock today. This watch has been through a water rescue class, a search and rescue class, and at least 3 trips to Texas A&M fire and rescue school. It’s still got lots of life life, but thanks to all the enablers on the forum, I have a Seiko Black Monster in Route!

Very nice. Those Glycine Combat Subs are horribly underrated.
Just a quick update to this post of mine. I still feel that Glycine watches are underrated. However, after trying to help a new member on a different forum for several months to get his defective Combat Sub. fixed under warranty, the President of Glycine, Stephen Lack took an interest in the topic. He offered to help. But then did nothing for about 3 months. The OP’s timing was poor. He took Mr. Lack up on his offer to help just before August. (Or, the month that pretty much all established Swiss watch brands take off. Though that doesn’t excuse the zero help the OP received. Still, Late July – Early September is the worst time to contact any such brands.)The OP ended up having serious health issues. So for the 2nd time, the topic got buried. I resurrected it the first time because I was confident that Glycine would do right by the OP. Another member resurrected it the 2nd time. That was when we learned that the OP had health issues. We convinced him to contact Mr. Lack again. Mr. Lack came back into the topic and once again offered to help.
At this point, I should point out that a veteran and well-respected moderator had verified that the person posting as the President of Glycine was in the fact the real deal.
Shortly afterwards, Mr. Lack made an absolutely disgusting post in which he insulted the OP. It was completely uncalled for. It was unprofessional. It was surprising. And so out of line that numerous veteran members of that forum (including myself) let Mr. Lack know that we will not be purchasing any Glycine watches, despite their quality. What followed next was an eye-opening mess in which some blindly devoted fan-boys decided to support Mr. Lack. Some refused to believe his account had not been hacked. (It wasn’t.) Some just said there must have been some angry PMs from the OP which we hadn’t seen. (There weren’t.) And some just decided to back-up his inappropriate comments anyway. The last, mainly coming from members who had dual accounts on another watch forum and decided raid the topic en-masse. Try as they might, the OP remained civil. Refused to play their game. Refused to lose his cool. The insults against him got so bad that the owner of the site itself ended up locking the topic.
Raiding across forums on completely different sites is one of those unwritten rules across the internet. Just an absolutely low class thing to do. I lost a lot of respect for certain members on that forum as they let their blind devotion to Glycine lead them to some disgusting behavior. (Let’s just say Jim Jones would have been proud of their devotion.) Still, no one behaved worse than the President of Glycine himself.
Going this newly acquired piece, very light on the wrist. Barely know it’s there. Sorry for the crap pic.
