After years of our police being able to shout stop or I’ll shout stop again it appears they are carrying handguns more often. Coming from NI it’s never been a big thing to me but I daresay there’ll be others up in arms about it. Theres a story on the BBC news site but I can’t link to it. For the interested they’re carrying Glock 17’s.
