I’ve been looking for it for a while.I don’t sleep much, and I’ve spent the past 4 or 5 nights trying to find absolutely anything else for cost reasons, but only talked myself further into the HDS 200 (tac default, but program it as you will) I ordered last night. Rotary looked great but clip is a requirement not a want, and I’m thrilled with the clicky. Closest other thing for what I want was a quark tactical, but a) it is back ordered b) no crenellations and C) the interface has to be reprogrammed if you want anything past your 2 presets — not an on the fly operation.
The HDS gives me instant access to 2 modes (without ever having to double check where a rotary is positioned) plus 2 more modes, programmable, without having to jump through hoops to get at them.
So that plus my recently acquired l3 illuminations l10 nichia for something small, high Cri, and doesn’t start at blind.
I’m hoping I’ll be able to add to the “ideal carry” thread over in general once the HDS arrives
Well, thanks to reppans post in another thread about the 30% off Quark QT2A-X, I’ve got one coming in the mail. Would never have bought one at $78, but at $54.60, it’ll take the place of the QT2L as my backup EDC light (trying to standardise my EDC gear to AA’s that work with lithium cells).
Got some more EO1’s on their way from batteryjunction. They make great birthday and thankyou gifts.

Just snagged one of these as well. Excited to get it! Was tempted to get a second P1 as the yellow/gold version is on for 25% off, but managed to curtail my spending with just the QAA-X.
Well, suddenly I have some fun stuff coming in….
– a generous custom modder offered to swap in a Nichia 219 in a low voltage Quark head for me…. and at cost, just for being a Quark fan.
– A SS QTC Peak El Cap, from all the strong recommendations of our favorite Peak specialists, Blerv and Archimedes.
– A Malkoff MDC AA, sort of custom configured by Gene. (Well, this is a 2nd attempt).Finally get try out some über-quality US-made sub-/low- lumen 1xAA lights! I don’t expect that any will be able to displace my favorite NW QPA-X EDC, but I have to see what all the big deal is about.
Hmmmm McGizmo has a 1xAA…
