Assume they both are clipped in your front pocket everyday (I have a stick on clip for my Victorinox). You can factor in other gear like keychain tools and folders however. I think the other gear you carry makes a big difference in which tool you prefer.
Charge TTi
-Better blade with one hand operation
-Serrated blade + hook
-Better scissors
-Better file
-Bit driver
-Micro bit driver
Spirit X
-All tools on the outside
-Better phillips driver
-Better flat head drivers
-Pry bar, awl, and a chisel are great additions
-Butter smooth operation
-Lighter weight
-Slimmer and smoother
I personally prefer the Spirit X in my pocket everyday over the Charge/Wave. The biggest strength of the Charge (OHO blade with great steel) doesn’t really matter to me. I have folders close by. The Victorinox knife meets all my criteria for a folder. The Charge’s better scissors don’t matter to me either because I have a keychain SAK with the small Victorinox scissors which are the best IMO. The file doesn’t really matter to me for EDC usage, and the bit drivers don’t really shine when you carry the Charge clipped in pocket without the bits.
If I wasn’t allowed to carry additional tools like a folder or my keychain SAK, then I would probably choose the Charge mostly for the scissors (I couldn’t handle having only the Spirit X’s).
Which do you choose?
