I had my one and only swiss army knife, a victorinox swisschamp. I had it with me for around 16years and it has served me well, the red scales heavily scratched and faded i lost the mini screwdrivercand toothpick already. It got lost it after leaving it on my house when super typhoon haiyan devastated my hometown tacloban city. When i left my home i left the swisschamp along with my EDCs and other survival stuff and tools to help my relatives who took shelter in my house.
I left my house because of my year old baby Haiyan left our city so devastated that baby food, milk formula, diapers, medicines and even clean water was impissible to find. When i returned home after four months the Champ was gone along with lots of my stuff.
I am getting another SAK or multitool and suggestions would be welcome. I carry a pocket knife a kershaw blur and cryo so the blade is not important. i am considering getting another swisschamp which i find very useful but a wee bit bulky and heavy. There are some tools i have no use for like the fish scaler, the punch and the parcel hook and magnifying lens. Essential tools would be the scissors, pliers, and bottle opener. Which other nice SAKs/multitool models has these and you’d recommend?
