Anyone else like / love wooden pencils? I love writing instruments of all sorts, but I have a special place in my heart for the old tried and true wooden pencil.

It’s hard to find a good pencil anymore; one can find them if they know where to look, but they’re not something you see regularly in the office supply stores or the grocery store. Oh sure, they have pencils that resemble wooden pencils, but they’re really just compressed pulp wood and a crummy (usually off-center) quasi-graphite core. Gone are the graded aromatic cedar wood pencils with the clay / graphite lead. Again, they can be found, but you have to look.
I always have a few wooden pencils going at any one time. As for EDC, they make great EDC writing instruments…no lead to monkey with, can be sharpened with a knife, and all-weather, all the time.
