Woolrich – Made in Mexico

I am a retired garment workers union member and am conscious about buying American made goods. I thought I was getting a bargain when I saw this Woolrich zippered jacket at a yard sale – $4.00. It is my size, has a fleece type lining, and is warm and comfortable. In addition Wooolrich is based in Pennsylvania, my home state. I always thought that the company prided itself in being American made. It wasn’t until I got home that I saw affixed to the label the contents tag saying “Made in Mexico”.
I checked on line and found this “Woolrich plans to increase the yardage of wool produced in its Pennsylvania woolen mill by 50 percent in 2013. It also plans to increase its “Made-in-USA” product offerings by 2015, ensuring that more than 50 percent of Woolrich woolen garments include American-made wool.”
Somehow I still feel cheated.
