Model 60’s are still really cheap. Awesome shooters too!

22’s are fun.An old Revelation by Savage. Short, long, long rifle. Single shot.
I may shorten the stock and barrel and pretend I’m Steve McQueen in that movie I can’t remember the name of.

It was a 1957-58 TV series titled “Wanted Dead Or Alive”. McQueen played bounty hunter Josh Randall. Among the best of the 1950s Westerns, along with ” Have Gun, Will Travel” . Reliving my youth! By the way, before you cut down that rifle into a “Mare’s Leg”, you better get some legal advice regarding ATF licenses.

One more point we score on you guys; factory mare’s legs are non-restricted in Canada!

+1 for the “everyone should have a 22”.
I’ve got 10’s of thousands of rounds through my M&P15-22… accurate, reliable and a blast to shoot. There’s some 22LR ammo around here, but mostly Remington crap that’s not worth buying. I’m still working on my stock from before the madness started… only a few thousand rounds of Federal and CCI left.

I love .22, probably the most fun to shoot. I would buy it, as I squirrel/rabbit hunt almost year round.

Walmart never has it, but my local gunshops always have .22lr.

Col. Cooper believed that the .22lr round would wind up being the post collapse currency…
One can also view .22 munitions as money in the bank—if so inclined….
    This!

LGS has Remington 525 rd cases for $32. Plus other kinds. No .22 magnum though.

I only have one .22LR slot on my firearms licence so for me it the first and only choice was a Sig Sauer 522. I’m amazed at how good it is with subsonic ammo and a SAK moderator.

I loved my ruger 10/22. I had to leave it in Florida. Now that I’m a citizen, I’m trying to talk my husband into letting me have one here. Wholesale Sports has a lime green version with my name on it.

Buying a .22 is definitely worth it… if you can find the ammo…

These are the first .22’s I’ve seen this year.

I went to a shop, but they didn’t have the gun I wanted. Ended up dropping way too much on ammo for a gun I don’t have. Filled a 30cal ammo box with the stuff…I guess its not too rare around here.

Yep, 22s are lots of fun, and practical. My first was a Ruger 10/22 when I was in high school. I should’ve kept that gun. I’ve got a Savage Mark II now and it does the job just fine.

most of my firearms are competition game specific, and have been accrued over the last 30 or so years… I have two “grail” guns, that I could not afford as a kid… I picked up one a couple of summers ago, a Belgian Browning .22 autoloading rifle for $300… the other is a Ruger Bearcat, and I’ll find one someday at a reasonable price…

I couldn’t be happier with my Ruger MKIII 22/45, 10/22, and a few others in my collection. Over the past few months I’ve been able to find 22lr ammo on a regular basis at my local Bass Pro Shops. I normally stop by once or twice a week on my way home from work and pick up as much as they’ll let me buy. Hard to find, but still cheaper than practicing with 9mm.
    .

+1 for the MKIII 22/45. I love mine. Eats any round I put in it. Plus with the trigger and other small upgrades, I love shooting it.

Another vote for everyone owning a .22LR — you just can’t go wrong. Partial to the Ruger 10/22, but there are lots of other great models out there, too.
