I saw a Youtube video for a Road Rash Kit with a 5″ x 9″ Xeroform bandage, which is a piece of gauze impregnated with an bacteriostatic petroleum jelly mix. I’ve been more and more impressed by healing in sterile, wet environments, so this piqued my interest. Any tips or hints for these? What are they best used on, besides scrapes? Some people say they work well on burns.
What about risks? Perhaps carrying a second is good because some of them dry out. Some people may develop irritation due to the bacteriostatic agent.
Thanks!
