Hi I have a Mossberg model 500 .410 bore pump shotgun with pistol grip forearm with an 18.5″ barrel it is the home security bantam 50359. I want to mount a flashlight on it, and since it is a .410 and also has the pistol grip on the front I cannot find a supplier that makes a flashlight for it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to mount a flashlight on it? Thanks Ed
I would just find what light works your application, then drill a magpul 1913 rail to forend.

addition of an off set mount like this Viking Tactics allows a variety of diameters of light to be used with the supplied shim set
drill a piece of rail to the tube. or, you can get one of those double C clamps and thicken up the barrel with a strip of rubber or metal.
if you put it on the forend, don’t put the rail on the very bottom. mounted at about 10 pm (looking down the barrel from the stock) makes the whole gun shorter and makes it easier to activate.Thanks for the input thus far, I have looked into an Elzetta mount as it looked like it would fit the double tube and the allow for the pistol grip that is upfront, but the company says it won’t fit due to the pistol grip. Also the .410 tube complicates it.
Try the Leapers UTG Universal Rifle Barrel Mount. There are different models with one or more rails. They aren’t the best quality but they aren’t meant for mounting sights on a 500 yard varmint rifle. For mounting a rail (or three) on the barrel or magazine tube of your shotgun, they should work well for about $20.

mount it on the barrel. won’t get it hot enough to melt off.wow, how do you even reach and activate it? you should blink the lights on and off, rather than leave them on. this seems like it would make actually working the shotgun and light :censored: near impossible.
You can make a mount from the hardware used to connect two electrical conduits together side by side. Cost under $10; including the paint to blacken the hardware. Or you can buy a SSI DEFENDER 12 gauge shotgun LASER/LIGHT COMBO from Sportsman’s Guide for $27.

You need to go to a hardware store that carries a good selection of clamps. I have clamped 1/2 inch conduit to up to 3 inch conduit.

On another forum, I remember seeing this same question posted a long time ago for the same gun. This mount worked for the person that asked. One of the forum members even gave him the mount to experiment with.I’m not sure if “spreader tube” means the choke tube for your shotgun:
Get the UTG 2 slot single rail (UTG MNT BR002S). The rail is about 1.2 ” long. They cost about $6.
Pick the light that you want to use. If it has a Picatinny mount, great! if not;
Get a Weaver or Picatinny scope mount that will fit your light. Many lights can be bought in the 25mm tube size. The cheapest rings will work. Just make sure that they fit the base. UTG makes rings that cost about $9 per pair. You only need one.
Remove the barrel and loosely clamp the rail onto either the barrel or the magazine tube. It may be a tight fit but I have heard that you can squeeze the top in without removing the barrel.
Put the barrel back on and test the fit with your light mounted.
Tighten it down and use a drop of blue Loctite on the screws (my advice – it’s not a requirement).
