KeymasterI’ll try and keep this short.
I bought Truglo front and rear set of sights for my Kimber Custom II. My gun shop said they would fit. The package actually says “fits most Kimber models”. So I took it to the local Gander on 2/21/11. 3 weeks go by and I hear nothing. I call up the firearms dept. and ask about the status of the install and the associate calls the gunsmith and he says that he has alot of “big projects” and that he has not gotten to it yet. He also mentioned that he had fitment issues with the Truglo sights on some Kimbers and would contact me if they do not fit.2 more weeks go by and I’m getting a little mad that nobody has called me to say that 1. the sights don’t work or 2. the gun is done and ready for pickup.
I make a stop by the store and inquire in person and the associate calls the gunsmith and says there was a fitment issue. Nobody called me, nobody thought that this little piece of information was important. So I say just bring the gun back and I’ll handle it from there. A total of 5+ weeks went by and nothing was accomplished other than the fact that my pistol now has sights that aren’t compatible with it which is a bad situation but the lack of communication by the staff at Gander had me more or less baffled. Anyone else with experience with their services? I doubt I’ll be frequenting their store from this point on. I asked the guy how long a job like this should have taken and he responded 2-2.5 weeks max, even if the gunsmith had a lot of “big projects”.
