KeymasterI see a lot of really nice guns I would hate to defend myself with, only because they would be gone for either a long time, or forever.

KeymasterOne more reason to always have a backup.

USPS says it’s sitting in my mailbox today so when I get home I’ll get it on my hip ASAP. I’ll wear it a bit before I post back. I’ll pretty much be grading it against a Stealthgear holster so looking forward to see how it stands up to it!What problems were you seeing with the backing?
I haven’t had any problems with mine (yet?) but I’m hearing folks have issues with it cracking/breaking like JoeLiberty reported.
I think the 2.0, in an attempt to be lighter and more comfortable may have gone too far away from durable to hold up to a lot of folks’ everyday use. I’m very happy with it overall but am concerned it’ll give out on me a lot sooner than some other options would.December 1, 2025 at 9:15 am #118039admin

KeymasterSo a quick update on the Aliengear 3.0
I’ve been wearing as much as I can in the last week or so and here are my thoughts. This is holstered to carry my Sig P320 Compact
Carrying with the IWB 3.0 has been pleasant. It’s a solid rig with some weak points, but nothing that would keep me from wearing it. Firstly, it’s the adjustability or lack there of. Obviously adjusting cant and how high or low it rides is simple and straight forward, but I still found it to be limited. With the forward most clip (I’m a righty) on the TOP hole, giving it a lower setting and the rear clip being set up in the middle (in order to keep it at a comfortable cant for me) I found my gun riding very high up and outside of my pants. Half of the trigger guard was exposed outside of denim to give you a visual. This isn’t a make or break, and the gun still holds solid, but it definitely caught my attention. Secondly is just how much holster is stuck to you. The 3.0 is comfortable, even on bare skin, but it covers a lot of it. This in turn causes some sweating, although not noticeable while wearing is clearly apparent once you take it off. This is a pro in the sense that you know once it’s on, its not moving, but if you wanted any minor on the fly adjustments, it’s almost out of the question. I would prefer a more trimmed down version of this holster, but again, definitely not a terrible thing. Thirdly, it’s the thickness of the holster itself. I switched in the lowest profile retention studs I could, which didn’t actually seem to make retention more or less, but it did cut down on the thickness a bit. The clip studs are thick as well and swapping in smaller ones would be ideal also. I haven’t experience any sort of snap or clip feeling that some holsters have to audibly or physically indicate to you your gun is seated in it’s holster, which would’ve been nice. The leather backing on the 3.0 has developed a large scratch/scrape down the center which looks like it’s from the Sig’s take down lever. It formed after the first test fitting but doesn’t seem to have gotten any worse following more use and practice draws and re-holsterings. I’ll report back if that changes.
All in all I’m happy with the holster, it definitely gets the job done, and for the price, its hard to beat! It is very comfortable, no doubt about it. Once you’ve had it on for a few minutes and get to doing something else, you forget it’s there. My only other holster to compare it too is my Stealthgear holster I use on my XD Mod.2. If I had to choose a setup I’d carry my Sig P320 in the AG 3.0 over the XD in the stealthgear. Although I think that it may just be the Sig is an easier, more comfortable gun for me to carry. So eventually I’ll pick up another stealthgear for the Sig and have a real good side by side comparison.
For now I’d say if you were a Aliengear 2.0 person looking to upgrade or just someone looking into the Aliengear line-up and your on a budget, then Aliengear would not dissapoint. If money is no option, I’d say give the stealthgear a look.

Good grief! That is disgustingly beautiful.December 1, 2025 at 9:15 am #118043admin
KeymasterNeat. Thanks for the review, notlimah! FYI, I told them about how my 2.0 had cracked and they offered either replace it OR for about $12 they would upgrade me to the 3.0 backing. Apparently all the shells and hardware are the same, and the shape is exactly the same, it’s just an upgrade in materials.
FWIW, I elected not to upgrade as the old shape did not work for me and my P938. Looking at the construction, I believe it would be quite difficult to mod the new one the way I did the original.

KeymasterI am really beginning to like this K Rounds IWB holster for my Sig P229. I went to use my Kramer pancake for todays’s range outing but the pistol feels so top heavy in it compared to this holster.

KeymasterMy M&P9 w/ TLR-1 riding in a Cry Havoc Gear holster.
I had him keep it minimal. Didn’t want a chunk of kydex below the barrel and light.

KeymasterMy Pitbull tactical Bloodline finally arrived yesterday, after a little over 2 month wait. The wait was worth it!! I won this from one of the YouTube channels I subscribe to, Tactiholics. I wanted a good OWB/IWB formy P-07, so this was lucky break.
