Mobile phone + metal work = bad…

Sooo.. for those of us that like to work in the shed.. and cant keep everything in pockets while rolling around under cars etc…. make a spot for your phone that is away from the work bench…
I just spent 30 minutes with lightly magmatic tweezers pulling metal filings out of my phones speaker..

Don’t think so, but the rest isnt coming out without ripping the waterproof membrane off.

Did the same think with a handie talkie. Had it clipped to my belt while grinding down some welds. Had to take the speaker out and pick all the filings out of it.

Can you use a stronger magnet to pull them out ? Hard drives contain ridiculously powerful magnets if you have one laying around.

I have a electromagnet I built in highschool…. But wave a powerful magnet over a mobile phone…. hmm pass. Not 100% on what having some of the innards of a sensitive electronic device exposed to a strong magnetic charge may have..
