ParticipantFlashpoint has made raids feel way less predictable, and that’s saying something for a game that already loves to punish hesitation. The big reason is the Vaporizer, a new flying ARC that’s turning open fights into a mess of panic and bad angles. Unlike the older machines, it doesn’t trudge into your line of fire and give you time to react. It floats, cuts sideways, then snaps a laser across the fight before most squads can settle. If you’ve been grinding for ARC Raiders Coins, you’ll notice right away that these encounters can wreck a clean run fast, especially when the team is still playing as if every threat comes from ground level.
Why Close Scrutiny feels so rough now
You’ll see the problem most clearly in Close Scrutiny. That condition already forces everyone toward the Assessor because normal loot is toned down so hard. So the map starts funneling players into one hot zone, and then the Vaporizers show up overhead in groups. That changes the whole tempo. You’re not just watching for Shredders, rival raiders, or whatever is pushing through the street. Now you’ve got laser pressure from above while trying to breach a central objective that everyone else also wants. It creates those ugly fights where one second you think your cover is good, and the next second you’re getting tagged from an angle you didn’t even check.Old habits don’t save you
A lot of players are learning the same lesson the hard way: normal cover isn’t enough. Tucking behind a truck, wall, or chunk of concrete used to buy a little breathing room. Against Vaporizers, not really. They punish static play. If you stop moving, you’re feeding them. The safer approach is to rotate early, climb when you can, and keep sightlines open so your team can track them together. High ground helps more than people first expected, mostly because it removes that awkward upward aim where they drift in and out of view. Weapons that handle vertical recoil well feel much better here, and explosive pressure can force quick kills before the drones spread the squad out. What this says about the game now
This isn’t coming out of nowhere either. Earlier updates already pushed players to rethink how they build for raids. The Firefly and Comet variants did that in a different way, more about tempo and crowd control, but the idea was the same. Don’t get comfortable. The Vaporizer just pushes that design further. It tells you the sky matters now, and if your squad enters a match with a one-note loadout, you’re probably going to feel it. You can’t just stack for ground pressure and hope movement solves the rest. Teams need cleaner callouts, faster target swaps, and somebody who can actually delete air threats before the whole push falls apart. The raids are meaner, and that’s the point
What makes this patch interesting is that it doesn’t simply add difficulty for the sake of it. It changes decision-making. Loot routes, spacing, ammo use, even when to commit to the Assessor all feel different now. Heavy ARC spawns were already enough to keep squads tense, but Vaporizers add a layer that demands sharper awareness every minute you’re alive. That pressure is frustrating, sure, yet it also taps into the best part of ARC Raiders: every extraction feels earned. If players adjust, tighten up their gear choices, and know when to buy cheap ARC Raiders Coins for the next run, they’ll find this update has made surviving feel more satisfying than ever.Welcome to RSVSR, where ARC Raiders feels sharper, smarter, and way more exciting.
