KeymasterFitted a Harrison Designs short trigger in last week. It’s smooth faced, and so far I really like it. I have IDPA on Saturday, so I should have a better overall opinion after that.

Hey Judoka, is it safe to assume your RIA had a mag well flare on it that you took off? Mine does and I’ve though about taking mine off too. Any idea why the front of the grip has a notch? Is that something you did, or is that how it comes from the factory?

How many rounds have you put threw that beaut? Any issues, ftf, fte? I’m stuck between the colt defender and kimber ultra carry.December 25, 2025 at 5:07 am #141625admin

Maybe 300 or so, no issues, yet anyway. A FTF or FTE here and there doesn’t make a gun, a bad choice… Ive had both with my trusty G19 once in a while too. Keep in mind, Kimber UC2’s are not without issues same as Colt, but you can’t go wrong with either… I’m just a Colt fan.December 25, 2025 at 5:07 am #141626admin

KeymasterI gave what I thought was my last 1911 (a Colt) to my future son-in-law as a Christmas gift last year. While I love 1911s, I don’t carry one, and I enjoy my 1903s more.
Then I stumbled across a LNIB Springfield Range Officer in a local gun shop. While I was examining it the clerk made me an offer I couldn’t refuse, so it came home with me. After my first trip to my backyard range I learned this gun shoots a heckuva lot better than I do. Wherever the sights are pointed when the trigger breaks…that’s exactly where the bullet goes. She’s a keeper:

Keymastermy last two .45 competition pistols…probably 60K on the single stack and 40K on the Para, and both showing the wear and tear… internals pretty much duplicated except the fixed SwenSight on the Para

KeymasterMy one and only 1911.
Springfield Champion Operator Lightweight. I’ve added a Wilson Combat V-Grip mainspring housing, a Wilson Combat extended slide release, and Magpul grips to it and a full length guide rod with a single recoil spring will replace the dual captive recoil springs when the factory recoil spring set up reaches the end of its life.
