alright, don’t laugh – a palm pixi
still tryin’ to figure out if it’s a dumb smart pkone, or a smart dumb phone!
but it was dirt cheap & a big step up from my $5 nokia I had for 5 yrs.
I only have beautiful dreams of iphones & androids.The Note 2/3 are great phones. Not perferct. Then again there no single BEST smartphone.
The Nokia 1520 is going to get a serious look when my Verizon contract is expired. The Note2/3 can synch with Windows most of the time. The Samsung software is finicky as it does not always awaken when the phone is attached to a PC. I am thinking a Windows 8.1 phone and a Windows 8.1 computer will play nice with the other.Picked up a blackberry z30. It’s a nice upgrade to the z10. Battery life is much improved and the larger screen makes typing on the fake keyboard much easier. Priority Hub looks interesting, I haven’t optimized mine yet.

I’m currently using an iPhone 3Gs (I know, a little behind the times)… Today I went to the local AT&T store to upgrade to an iPhone5 and was told that they are no longer carried in the store and when I checked online there were none available. Seems that they are out of stock now that the new models are out. (Even though you can still purchase an 8gb iPhone 4.)
I’ve looked at my options (5s or 5c) and I don’t really care for them. I think the 5s is over priced, althought I’ve read some reviews that indicate the accelerated graphics and connection speed are worth the money. I think the 5c looks more Fisher Price than Apple and don’t see it fitting in with my daily “color scheme”. (I mean, seriously, the phone does not come in black??)
I’ve contemplated making the move to Android but I’m hesitant to learn a new phone system, change software, etc. For now I’m sticking with my 3Gs and in search of a new Otterbox as it is as old as the phone.
My dad picked up a regular iPhone 5 at SAMs club after the 5s and 5c came out for $78 with contract. They aren’t receiving any replenishments, so when they’re gone, they’re gone.
With the 5c, the build quality on them is quite impressive if you get a chance to handle one. They don’t feel cheap. And, if you’re going to put it in a case, who cares what color it is?

I found it funny that you said this. As an I.T. professional, ever since OS X came out I have always referred to it as “Unix by Fisher Price”. :rofl:
I had a 3G and 3GS, because they were the best smart phones on AT&Fee when I was with them. After changing carriers, went to an HTC Evo and Samsung Galaxy S3 when they came out. It was like going from an Easy Bake Oven to a nice Viking range.

Thought I’d like the slide out keyboard. Turns out, not so much. When I can switch, I will, but definitely within the droid family.
Moving from your 3gs to iphone 5 is a substantial upgrade. Have you looked on ebay? You might get a good deal there.
