KeymasterTain Ottavino V3 Ti (x2)

KeymasterRainy…subjectively I perceive only a small increase from 2 to 3 cells… the voltage range for the M3 head is from 2.7-9v, so the added milliamp hours should be significant on use time… it illuminates the alley with intense (operative word) bright light for at least a block … reflective stop signs at least 5 blocks…

just received the tube extension to add an extra CR123 to my Solarforce M3..
How is the throw on that one? And how does it perform with 3 CR123’s instead of 2? 🙂

Sounds like a bizarre situation to me,….I know, if the boss says only one pouch, get one big enough to take the phone AND torch. Lol
I had considered doing something like that, but I really like the Otterbox Defender case I’ve been using on my 5S; so, I wouldn’t really want to make changes to the kind of instantaneous access that gives me to my phone (It’s got a clip holster. so the phone snaps in and out of it, very quickly), while still providing excellent protection. My reason for using this kind of set up (aside from excellent shock protection) is quicker access to the phone. I don’t want to be digging it out of a conventional holster. Takes too long, especially when I want to take a picture of something in a hurry (a Kodak moment, per se). Moments like that can pass you by very quickly, if you’re not ready for them.
I also like to be able to answer my phone on the first ring. I can’t stand people who let their phone ring several times before bothering to answer (and they often have their phone’s ringer volume cranked up all the way, too – very obnoxious, and just plain inconsiderate).
Now, if Otterbox made a Defender case, with an additional side pouch for my SC62W, I’d be all in 😀 :p

Why can’t you have it on your belt at work? What’s the problem with having a pouch on ones belt whilst at work, some bosses are really strange??
For a while, I could wear pretty much whatever I wanted to work; so I wore cargo shorts (I practically live in cargo shorts), and I had numerous lights on my belt, and in my cargo pockets (as many as ten, at one time, between the two). I was pretty extreme about what lights I carried, on-person – even at work. But the dress code changed, and I could only wear flat front shorts (no more cargo pockets), and one belt-carried item, so that changed everything for me. I always belt-carry my iPhone (can’t stand pocket carrying a phone. It makes no sense to me), so that was a no-brainer. Flat front shorts don’t leave a lot of room for multiple-light carry, so I decided on my EagleTac P20C2 Mk II, because of its great flexibility and super solid clip.
Fortunately, I’m still able to carry all the same items I’d normally carry on-person, and those are in my bag, which I’m allowed to have at work :D. So, not really a big loss, although a little less convenient for instant access to some items.
It is what it is…

I’ve had my new Zebralight SC62w for just shy of a month, now, and have been extremely impressed with most everything about it. The interface is so intuitive (and flexible – an added bonus), I can finally understand why so many people have raved about their lights 🙂

Cheesy iPhone picture – superb light. Here it is, at work. I use it very heavily there, and most everywhere else. It really is a solid little piece of engineering. My only true complaint about it is the miserably loose pocket clip. I hate it. I usually carry it in the holster that came with my Nitecore EA11, on my belt, right next to my iPhone 5S; but today, I tried pocket-carrying it in my front left pocket, at work, right next to my EagleTac P20C2 Mk II (I still like pocket carrying that one because of its momentary function, and great spot beam, for its size.
The clip is extremely disappointing. The P20’s clip is so solid, you practically have to tear it out of your pocket, to get it to budge. It’s very grippy, and that’s the kind of clip I’m used to, if I ever pocket carry a light. It ain’t goin’ anywhere, on its own. The SC62w’s clip, on the other hand, while pretty and slick, is just too loose to trust. It just slides in and out of a pocket, way too easily, for my taste. I generally hate pocket clips, and this is why. I’ve lost too many lights because I bumped into something and the light went flying, or just got lost, without my knowledge of where it even went (all the worse), and it was too late to recover the light.
I’d really like to pocket carry this light at work (since I’m not allowed to wear it on my belt), but it needs a much more solid clip.
Aside from that, it’s amazing…and it’s so small. I can’t believe how small it is, for how much output it produces. I still can’t get over it. The PID is genius. Timed step-downs can really suck, and this is the kind of heat management regulation all lights should have, in my humble opinion. It only lowers the output, when it’s actually necessary, based on usage and environment, rather than a per-determined time. It just makes sense. I wish all my lights had this kind of thermal management.

KeymasterFinally have a replacement LX2 on the way, after mine went missing over the summer.
Hands down my favorite EDC light of all time, the UI is just caveman simple.
Little push= little light and hard push = lotta light.
No clicky, no “rotate 3 times, while rubbing your head and scratching your toe” Just simple.admin

I keep looking through this thread, on CPF, everywhere to find inspiration but nothing grabs me right now.. and it’s annoying!
Can’t think of a light in the past 6 months or so, since I got my P25LC2 that’s exciting enough to want to buy. I’ve got a good AAA backup light, I don’t really care for AA’s right now, but the D25A Ti is perfect for it’s size.. and for 18650’s between the SC600W L2, D25LC2 and P25LC2 I’m all set.
But man I’m bored with them!
