KeymasterBought an Olight I3S EOS to tinker with. Ah, Black Friday brings out the worst in impulse toy shopping.

KeymasterIt all depends if anyone here wants to get me a new light for Christmas.
That spirit of giving.;)
OTOH, I suppose family and friends should come first.

KeymasterI should have a new Maratac Copper CR123 by Thursday.
Unfortunately it has to wait under the tree till Christmas.

KeymasterI just order a ReyLight Custom Lumintop Tool AAA Cooper with Nichia 219B.
It should have a nicer warm light and more flood.
Also the setting are low, med and high.
Not med., low and high like the original ones.
I will have both to compare.
I might send the original to Vin to have it super tuned.admin

KeymasterThis month’s purchases have been:
Fenix E15 2016 Edition (450 lumens on a 16340 battery). Four modes (always starts on low). The head’s just slightly larger than that of the previous E15, but the output simply smokes the previous version, hands-down 🙂
Zebralight SC600Mk II L2 (Neutral 4500K). Phenomenal light/output/interface/feel. I absolutely love this one, and it has quickly become one of my full-time EDC lights.
EagleTac DX30LC2 (XP-L Hi V3). Just arrived today! Excellent compact thrower. They finally added a momentary function to the series. It’s about time. Five main power modes, and hidden flashing modes. Straight to high, or lowest modes. Mode switch doubles as battery check. Nice!admin
KeymasterOlight S1 Baton on its way. Cant wait to blind myself :frantic:

KeymasterThe new Fenix CL05 personal beacon/marker.

KeymasterTitanium Maratac AAA just arrived Friday.

Thanks! I actually just received it yesterday and it’s pretty awesome so far. Puts out a great 1160 lumens from off, (a feature I was looking for in a flashlight) also great is going from off to low when you need a flashlight for those low light scenarios. One complaint I seem to have is the clip, for one its chrome, not my favorite color for pocket clips, I will probably spray paint it black. And also the pocket Clip doesn’t seem too strong but Time will tell with that. Other then that the light is pretty good, overall happy with my purchase, I recommend it.
I actually found (and went ahead and purchased) one of these DX30LC2s, in fantastic condition, on CPF, earlier today :D. It should be here in the next few days.
Those 1160 lumens specification is actually emitter lumens. It actually delivers 905 lumens (out the front); but that’s still very impressive output, for such a small light. Step-down to 85% (769 lumens) output occurs after 200 seconds. I can live with that. It’s kind of to be expected from such a compact high-powered light (to prevent the light from overheating – a common safety feature found in most high-powered compact 18650 lights ).
I also like the direct access to low and high modes, from off, and the momentary capability. That’s something I always missed, when I was using my D25LC2 (being the reverse clicky/twisty that it was).
The side switch (for output changes) is a great feature; and 300 plus meter beam range is amazing, from such a small-headed light.
I agree, about the clip. I’ve never been very trusting of clip-on clips. I would use this light with the supplied holster, for sure. Some of their other lights (like the P20 C2 Mk II that I EDC’d for a while) have an incredibly strong clip that really grips the pocket (no way that light is accidentally coming loose, with that clip); but the placement of the clip makes the light stick out of a pocket, by a good inch. Not the end of the world, though.
I’m really looking forward to putting it to use.

I’ve been wanting one of those, since they were released. I keep hoping I’ll find one, on sale, fairly soon.
Enjoy your new purchase!
