I just downloaded iPhoto yesterday for both the iPad and iPhone and am still learning how to use it. But a standout app that is really nice is genius scan. Take a picture in the app of a document and it flattens it and makes it look just like it was just scanned.

great post. i didn’t know about the TiltMeter app, but i’ll be using that one for sure.

here’s my favorite helpful apps, but i’m going to cheat and list more than 5.
genius scan – create pdf’s from camera
my measures – add measurements to a pic
    iXpenseit – personal finance tracker
    ListMonger – create nested lists.
Calculator# – good calculator for complex equations
motionX GPS – running gps, tracks distance and pace.
Counter+ – counts your taps. good for inventorying at work.
Game Kit – great for score keeping
Round Timer – a boxing timer good for keeping rounds when sparring, or also for HIIT training.
UConvertPro – unit converter. has lots of choices and a decent UI

Great idea for a thread! I see some stuff I want to try.

I really haven’t tried a whole lot of apps, but here would be my top picks:
    • MyWi: great if you’ve got unlimited data, jail-broken your phone, and AT&T hasn’t throttled you yet
    • Google: search by voice
    • Flashlight: the iHandy version has a dimmer
    • MapQuest: turn-by-turn navigation – nice as long as you follow it’s route
    • Anylist: allows you to share shopping lists with others
