A .22 pistol, something like the Walther P22. Because it’s relatively small/compact, and it’s cheap, as well as ammo. Sure, I’d like something like the FN Hi-power, but that would become cumbersome to carry after a while.
As long as you can shoot it fast and well, and reload quickly, more power to ya!December 2, 2025 at 5:51 am #120195admin
Keymaster357SIG
There are positives and negatives to the round, but I am fond of it.

Keymaster10 rounds should be sufficient, unless there was a zombie attack. 😛

Yes, Hi-Powers are a tad big for ongoing EDC in urban/suburban environments for my tastes, but they are one of the finest pistols around. I miss mine, but that’s another story.I’ve been known to carry a 22 WMR backup pistol, but the P22 is too big for my taste. A basic NAA MiniMag with CCI’s Maxi-Mag TNT (30 gr Speer Gold Dot JHP) is my choice for a small but potent, up-close and personal belly gun. The TNT won’t achieve it’s potential out of this pistol, but it’s stated muzzle specs of 2200 fps and 322 Ft-Lbs of energy make a it a viable combo when something larger is not possible, regardless of barrel length.
My normal carry, though, is 9mm, sometimes .45, with Winchester Ranger T-Series loaded with the heaviest bullet the gun can handle, or Hornady Critical Defense if I’m carrying my Sig P938.

What particular aspect of that video is compelling you to reconsider your basic load?December 2, 2025 at 5:53 am #120228admin

KeymasterThe LCR is convenient to carry without adjusting your wardrobe. My threat scenario was ATM or gas pump assaults as being the most likely, with one or two bad guys.
